I. Reports

1. Chris Hilton - 35th Anniversary
   • 107 paid for dinner. Over 120 attendees.
   • Lots of late payers. Prepaid for 120 dinners.
   • $5,875 paid. $5,652 spent less $43.00 for pictures.
   • $180.00 overage was handed to Fra Barko for alumni Club.
2. Barko - Exchequer Report
   • $415.00 has been collected from 8 members and 35th Anniversary donation.
   • Handed $50.00 to Fra Contreras to send to National to pay for Alumni Club set-up dues for formal recognition.
   • Has been in touch with IRS and is awaiting formal "Letter of Determination" that shall confirm our non-profit status.
   • So far, Glendale Federal is best deal for checking account. $.25 per check written and no monthly fee. Fra Kuch suggested credit union at SJSU.
3. Contreras - Housing Board
   • Total of ± $30,000.00 in Housing Board Account. Money is at National earning approximately 6%.
   • Once Alumni Club gets organized, would like to reform Housing Board (current Board is Fratres Brodsky, Shevlin and Contreras).
   • Earned interest goes solely to fund Beta Delta Scholarships.
4. Alumni Database
   • Handed out hard copies of current list. Have copies on disc.
   • Asked all alumni to review and update to Vince any new phone numbers and/or addresses.
5. Convention
   • 1998 in St. Louis. 2nd week of August.
   • Alumni Club brings 2 extra votes.
   • We need an Alumni Rep this year.
   • 1999 convention in Los Angeles. Beta Delta in So. California is organizing reunion.
6. Charter Minutes -- Minutes of Chapter Meeting of 5/5/98 were handed out.

III. New Business

1. Appointment of officers of Alumni Club
   • President: Mark Sanchez
   • Vice President: Jeff Zell
   • Exchequer: Mike Barko
   • Recorder; Mickey Hsieh

• Need to establish by-laws. Vince will contact national regarding existing by-laws from other Alumni Clubs.
• Maintain and update database. Mickey shall work towards fully updated database.
• Need to inventory and relocate composites, paddles, albums, files, etc. Kuch (Historian) will track items down.
• Develop and Allocate Resources. Alumni Club needs to be organized and strong. Organize social functions. Need to identify key numbers of each five-year periods to notify Brothers of Alumni Club. Hilton has list in pledge class order.
• Need solid plan for reorganization effort for fall 1998.
• Need by-laws and formal election of officers no later than December 31, 1998.
• Database. Still some unfinished updates. Vince will supply list to Mickey of those who promised updates.
• Ambiguous Members. M. Snow, C. McMitchell, Jeff Hankin, Chuck Thompson. Need to confirm status. May need to initiate.
• Deceased Members. 11 deceased Beta Deltans.
• Need list of affiliate members in area - non Beta Delta who now live in area.
• Need Alumni Representative for St. Louis.
• Website (asinine.com) Zell will put bulletin board to private area.

1. Condition of current chapter.
   • Sanchez outlined discussion at chapter meeting of May 12, 1998. Drive has not been there all semester. Only one council member (Macabeo) in attendance. All upper classmen. Lavatai graduating this semester. Chapter discussed surrendering charter. Recommendation is to give all active members Alumni status at semester end.
   • Alumni Club needs to form Rush Committee. Need ideas where to rush. Current ad running in Jewish Community News. Rush line # is 278-5726.
   • Alumni meetings shall be held on third Monday of each month. Next meeting is June 15, 1998. All Alumni are invited and encouraged to attend.

• Baby girl Sanchez (Anna Christina) born week of 35th reunion.
• Mickey party coming up.
• Zells wife graduated.
