Present: Mark Klein, Sigma Sigma-Marco Castaneda, Vince Contreras, Keith Barna, Beta Delta-Gerry Macabeo and Siatuu (STU) Lavatai.

I. Old Business:

1. Reestablishing of SAMMY Chapters
1. The reestablishing and expansion of SAMMY Chapters will take place along the West Coast. Some of the campuses that are being targeted are in California: UCLA, USC, Cal State Northridge, Stanford University and San Jose State University.
2. We currently have students and alumni that attend, live or work within a reasonable distance from these campuses. At USC, alumni are negotiating, with the Greek Life coordinator and administration, to specify an exact and reasonable debt that is owed for the SAMMY's campus house deficiencies.
   
2. SVAGoSAM data entry
1. There are many listings of SAMMY Alumni Emails that need to be "Manually Entered" into the SVAGoSAM Cyber Group Directory.
   1. SVAGoSAM is searching for any Alumni who can assist with the data entry of Emails. If you want to assist, then please contact the Recorder via Email: (sammystu@hotmail.com).
   2. Currently, a SVAGoSAM Cyber Group has been implemented by our Computer Guru (Fra Jeff Zell), which allows our SVAGoSAM Council to communicate during the month via group Emailings. Hopefully, we can expand our database to include the rest of the SAMMY Alumni in Northern California.

II. Reports

1. Recorder Report
   1. Still receiving and posting alumni Emails into my group listing directory.
      
2. Exchequer Report ( per Jeff Kuch)
   1. Grand Amount of ($4236.14) did NOT change significantly. $1,200 of that grand amount belongs to Sigma Sigma (UC Berkeley) to pay for a commercial house stove.

2. Vice Prior Report. (as per Fra John Paine)
   1. Beta Delta 40th Anniversary, scheduled in Spring 2003. If you are interested in joining the 40th Anniversary committee, please contact the Recorder via Email (sammystu@hotmail.com).
   2. A notice detailing the "Golf Scramble- Part II," scheduled for Saturday (October 6, 2001) will be sent out via Email. We need 28 PAID participants, in order to reserve and confirm the golf event. So far, ONLY (3) three participants PAID. (Deadline to send in your monies is Sunday, September 30, 2001).

3. Prior Report.
   1. Thanks to Fra Bernie Greenfield and his wife for hosting the 1st Annual SVAGoSAM swimming pool & BBQ party.
      1. Thank you letter was sent to Fra Bernie Greenfield and his wife for hosting the 1st Annual Summer Swim & BBQ party.
         

III. New Business:

1. SVAGoSAM Signature Card & Website Promotion
   1. Fra Mark Klein will design a (SVAGoSAM) Logo.
   2. SVAGoSAM website is (http://www.asinine.com/sam)
      
2. SAMMY Task Force
   1. Currently, their are two Task Force operating in California (Southern-Cal & Northern Cal).
      1. These groups are comprised of SAMMY Alumni attending, residing or working near the targeted campuses. The Task Force efforts are currently being focused on reestablishing SAMMY Chapters at UCLA, USC and Stanford University.
         1. Southern-Cal: Currently negotiating with Greek Life coordinators and administration to allow SAMMY to colonize on campus.
         2. Northern-Cal: Currently Coordinated by Fra Marco Castaneda (at Stanford) is progressing and moving forward.
            1. SAMMIES left the Stanford Greek Life Culture in good standing and they are willing to allow SAMMY on campus to meet potential candidates.
            2. However, a massive RUSH effort (to pledge transfer or lower class students) will ONLY be authorized (by Stanford Greek Life Coordinators) during Spring 2002. But, SAMMY will be allowed to use On-Campus facilities to reserve for meetings or RUSH events during the academic year.
      2. Various RUSH techniques and strategies were suggested and recommended.
         
3. SAMMY National Help
   1. Fra Aaron Girson (Executive Director) will visit the West Coast in September or October to negotiate, with Greek Life Coordinators concerning, a reasonable debt owed for SAMMY campus house deficiencies and to assist with any RUSH efforts.
   2. The Octagon looked FAVORABLY on SVAGoSAM recommendation to Cost Share for SAMMY field reps while they are helping in the reestablishing and expansion efforts on the West Coast.

IV. Announcements:

1. Fra Mike Barko celebrated his 17th Anniversary last August.
2. Fra Gerry Macabeo will get married on Sunday, October 7, 2001.
3. Next SVAGoSAM meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 16, 2001. (Location to be announced. Continue to monitor your Emails).
