Present: UCD: Mike Kennemer, UCSD: Mike Harris, Vince Contreras, Jeff Kuch, Jeff Zell, Mark Sanchez and Siatuu (STU)

I. Old Business:
- Reestablishing SAMMY chapters throughout 5 states: California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
- The alumni will use interest from the Housing Fund for reestablishing and expansion of SAMMY chapters throughout the 5 states (listed above).
- Initial SAMMY reestablishing efforts will be focused on those campuses with a huge Greek Life culture, such as UCLA and USC. However, other campuses that are being targeted are the following: Cal State Northridge, San Jose State University, Stanford University, and University of Washington, respectively.
- There are a few SAMMIES, current UCLA or USC students/alumni, who are meeting with the Universities' Greek Life coordinators and administration, to determine how to bring SAMMY back on campus and to define the exact debt owed for past deficiencies to the SAMMY house on campus.
- SVAGoSAM Robes
- Sigma Sigma (UC Berkeley) will use SVAGoSAM robes for initiation of their candidates. Date of initiation is yet to be announced.
- SVAGoSAM Database & Referral Network & Cyber Groups
- Fra Mark Sanchez will give his MEGA database (hard copy) of SAMMY Alumni personal information to Fra Jeff Zell, to download onto his cyber files.
- Fra John Paine will assist with data entry of the MEGA database onto a spreadsheet and submit it to Fra
Zell.
- If anyone wants to help in the data entry effort, then please contact the recorder via Email.

- SAMMY Referral Network is still under construction. But, Fra Zell is designing a new method where SAMMIES can keep their personal info updated, as well as being able to communicate to other SAMMIES within your Cyber Groups. More info and details concerning the Cyber Group feature will be presented in the future. Continue to monitor your Email.

- Beta Delta 40th Anniversary, scheduled in Spring 2003. If you are interested in joining the 40th Anniversary committee, please contact the Recorder via Email

- Golf Scramble (Part II) is scheduled for October 6th and will be held at the Moffett Field Golf Course (Mountain View, CA).
- Golf Fees: Between $40 to $45.
- Deadline for your golf fee is (September 30, 2001).

III. New Business:
- SVAGoSAM Signature Card & SVAGoSAM website promotion.
- It was suggested at the meeting that signature cards should be used in all official SVAGoSAM correspondences and fraternity
business.

- SAMMY Task Force
- The Task Force is comprised of SAMMY Alumni who are interested in actively participating in the SAMMY recruitment and chapter reestablishing efforts at their alma maters or local colleges and universities.
- Currently there are a few SAMMIES who are working towards this endeavor. They are currently working in Southern and Northern California.
- If you are interested in becoming an active member of the Task Force, then please contact the recorder via Email. The Northern California Task Force will meet to discuss implementing RUSH strategies and techniques for the 2001-2002 academic year.
- Several RUSH strategies that may be helpful for the Task Force, were discussed. These strategies included the following:
- Distributing SAMMY Rush flyers at the dorms and around campus. There was discussion on whether to identify or NOT identify Sigma Alpha Mu on these flyers.
- Posting flyers around campus inviting matriculated students who want to start a fraternity.
- Reserving an on-campus classroom, hall or conference room for a meeting between SAMMY Alumni and any interested matriculated students, who want to be a part of the Beta Delta recolonizing group.
- Collecting names & personal information of all freshman or transferring students.
- SAMMY National Help
- SAMMY National assistance will be provided by Aaron Girson and field representatives. However, the Task Force and other SAMMY Alumni MUST find two (2) matriculated students who are interested in starting a fraternity.
- SVAGoSAM will Cost Share for Field Reps expenses (ie. Room & board). The Octagon looked at this proposal FAVORABLY. Aaron Girson will make a trip to the West Coast during September or October.
IV. Announcements:
- The 1st Annual SVAGoSAM swimming pool & BBQ party was successful.
- SAMMY Convention (in Cleveland, Ohio) was successful. Approximately 130 to 140 delegates attended.
- Instead of having chapters host conclave. National HQ will select sites to hold five (5) regional conferences.
- Professional speakers and consultants will give instruction on various SAMMY topics, such as Risk Management, Leadership, Recruitment, etc., to SAMMIES at these conferences.
- The West Coast regional conference will be held in Las Vegas (during February 3-5). More details concerning this event will be provided in future notices, so please monitor your Email.
- Fra John Paine received the Alumni Service Award at the SAMMY Convention.
- Fra Jonas Vogelhut (Psi Chapter), aka US Army Major Vogelhut, will be moving from Missouri with wife, Paula, and triplets: Samuel, Jeremiah & Marc (SAMMY candidates, year 2020) to Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Its near, Edison, NJ and New York City. They will be closer to the rest of the Vogelhut In-Laws. Good luck from
