Silicon Valley Alumni Club Meeting Minutes
March 20, 2001

Meeting called to Order at 7:35pm by Fra Mike Barko, Prior.

Present: John Paine, Terry Speizer, Jim Paine, Jeff Kuch, Jeff Zell, Keith Barna and Siatuu (STU) Lavatai.

Reading of previous Meeting Minutes were waived

I. Old Business:

  1. Retention of Current SVAGoSAM Council & Open Nominations for SVAGoSAM Vice Prior.
    1. Motion (made by Fra John Paine)
      1. With the Exception of Johnathan Powell, that current SVAGoSAM Council remain in office for one more term.
    2. Open Nominations for SVAGoSAM Vice Prior
      1. Fra John Paine was nominated.
      2. A unanimous decision was made to have SAMMY alumni VOTE for the extension of the current SVAGoSAM Council's term. Also, they are allowed to nominate & vote for any alumni to be SVAGoSAM Vice Prior.
    3. SVAGoSAM Council and alumni will make & distribute (1,500 copies) of the formal letter for nominations and ballots and requests for donations. Prior Mike Barko will develop the formal letter & announcement.
      1. The formal letter, ballots and requests for donations will be distributed to the SAMMY alumni via the U. S. Mail. Prior Barko will attain SAMMY alumni address labels from National Headquarters. SVAGoSAM will purchase envelopes & postage for the mailings.
      2. Sigma Sigma will be required to donate their time and energy for posting (1,500 copies) of formal letter, announcements and ballots.

II. Reports

  1. Recorder Report (as per STU Lavatai)
    1. Still posting SAMMY Alumni Emails to my directory.
  2. Exchequer Report ( per Jeff Kuch)
    1. SVAGoSAM has collected ($332.76) since last month for donations & interest earned on the bank's account. The current grand total in the SVAGoSAM account is ( $3,896.76).
  3. Vice Prior Report. -- No Report.
  4. Prior Report.
    1. He is still developing the formal letter for alumni donations, announcements and ballots.

III. New Business:

  1. SVAGoSAM will "brainstorm" Brotherhood & Social events for the upcoming Summer.
    1. Some possible events include the following: A group outing to Oakland A's baseball home game, BBQ and swimming pool party, Pilsbury camping trip and more.
