Silicon Valley Alumni Club Meeting Minutes
February 20, 2001

Meeting called to Order at 7:55pm by Fra Mike Barko, Prior.

Reading of previous Minutes were waived

Present: Jeff Zell, Vince Contreras, Mark Sanchez, John Paine, Jeff Kuch and Siatuu (STU) Lavatai.

Absent: Johnathan Powell, Vice Prior.

I. Old Business:

  1. Golf Scramble Tournament (Jan 27th)
    1. Location- NAS Moffett Field, Mountain View.
    2. 28 players attended and made the event successful. Door prizes and monies were awarded.
    3. The next Golf Scramble Tourney is scheduled for October 2001, so continue to monitor your Emails.
  2. Copacabana Musical (Jan 19th)
    1. Location- Center for Performing Arts, San Jose.
    2. Six Couples showed and made the event successful. Fra Rick Bartocelli sent an Email to the Recorder stating his and others enjoyment of this event. Dinner at the Hilton and the show were great!!
  3. Retention of Current SVAGoSAM Council
    1. Motion made by Fra John Paine, to retain the current SVAGoSAM Council for another term (with the exception of Fra Johnathan Powell).
      1. Tabled until New Business
  4. New SVAGoSAM Vice Prior Nomination
    1. Since Fra Johnathan Powell resigned his position as Vice Prior, SVAGoSAM Council decided to discuss "Open Nominations for Vice Prior."
      1. Fra John Paine is nominated for Vice Prior.
      2. An announcement and ballots for "Open Nominations for Vice Prior," will be distributed, via US Mail, among the SAMMIES for their feedback.

II. Reports

  1. Recorder Report (as per STU Lavatai)
    1. Still entering SAMMY alumni Emails from Prior Barko & Fra Mark Sanchez lists.
  2. Exchequer Report ( per Jeff Kuch)
    1. No Significant change from last month's grand total of ($3,564.08).
    2. A grand total: ( $500) has been collected for the purchase of a commercial stove to be installed at Sigma Sigma.

III. New Business:

  1. Retention of Current SVAGoSAM Council.
    1. Motion- made by Fra John Paine
      1. To extend the current SVAGoSAM Council's term for one more year.
      2. Fra Mike Barko will develop a formal letter or announcement to be sent out to alumni via the U.S. Mail.
