Silicon Valley Alumni Club Meeting Minutes
December 19, 2000

Meeting called to Order at 8:00pm by Prior: Mike Barko.

Reading of previous Minutes were waived

Present: Fernando Lopez, Chris "Murple" Hilton, Mike Barko, Jim Paine, Terry Speizer, Mark Sanchez, Sean Nelson, John Paine, Jeff Zell, Jeff Kuch and Siatuu (STU) Lavatai.

Absent: (Vice Prior, Jonathan Powell)

I. Old Business:

  1. Sigma Sigma (UC Berkeley) Stove
    • In our efforts to raise funds to contribute towards the purchasing of a New Commercial stove for Sigma Sigma Chapter, we have collected a grand total of ($500).
    • Sigma Sigma Alumni collected....($150.00)
    • Beta Delta Alumni collected.....($350.00)
    • Motion: Made by M. Sanchez & Second by J. Paine
  2. Golf Outing, Moffet Field Course (as per J. Paine)
    • This Event has been CONFIRMED and is scheduled on Saturday (Jan 27, 2001) beginning at 11:00am.
    • Total cost per person: ($45.00) which covers your Food, Golf Course Access fee and use of golf carts. Also, there's a clubhouse bar, where ALL of the drinks are tax-free, cheap and able to give you a "Quick Buzz" that you won't soon forget. If you don't own a set of clubs, you may rent them on site. Also, PRIZES will be awarded to ALL attendees, so DO NOT miss out on this event.
    • However, a ($5.00) deposit must be submitted to John Paine No Later than Friday, January 19, 2001. In order to RESERVE your spot in the SAMMY golfing line-up.
    • I ENCOURAGE all SAMMIES, with Novice or Amateur abilities to please SIGN-UP for this event. The next "Golf Scramble" will be scheduled for October 6, 2001. If you have any questions please contact John Paine via Email: japaine@aol.com

  2. Sanchez is taking a group of SAMMIES and their wives to the Copacabana Musical, on Friday (Jan 19,2001), at the Center for the Performing Arts in San Jose. If you want more info about this event please contact him via Email: MSANCHEZ@btcommercial.com
  3. Fra Terry Speizer (Beta Delta) is planning to coordinate the Southern California SAMMY Alumni Club. Any SAMMY interested in assisting in this endeavor, please contact him via Email: terry@nvmemory.com
