Calendar for April:
Fra Lavatai presented the body with a general calendar of events for the month of April. He stressed that this was the month to begin talking to people in the dorms.
- Baseball SJSU vs Santa Clara 4/14 at 7:00pm
- Baseball SJSU vs Santa Clara 4/15 at 7:00pm
- Baseball SJSU vs Saint Mary's 4/28 at 7:00pm
- American Heart Association in conjunction with Sigam Alpha Mu
- April 22--all day: Blood Pressure tests/screening.
- April 24 and April 25: The 35th Anniversary of Beta Delta Chapter
- April 30 Author Norman Mailer will speak at SJSU at Morris Dailey Auditorium 7:30p.m. Admission is free.
35th Anniversary:
- As a courtesy to Fra Chris Hilton, undergraduate students that will be attending the 35th party should contact Murple. If they cannot afford it--make arrangements for payment!
Discussion on Housing:
- Fra Lavatai said the house that Fra Sanchez was looking at for the chapter was on 10th street across from the parking garage. He said that he knew two people that wanted out of the dorms and were looking for a place. It was mentioned that the alumni would lose interest in supporting the chapter if there were no bodies for the house.
Checking account status:
- Tim said that if the chapter was having problems getting an account, then maybe and alumnus should do it. He also asked what has happened the the money that has been collectted. Will it be used to pay IFC dues and rush.
Bounce for Beats:
- Fra Snow: To be held on Earth Day April 22, 1998. Chapter needs more information.
Rush Report:
- Tim mentioned that Murple said that rushees could be invited to the party on Friday night at Phil Chang's house. He recommended written invitations. He will call Fra Chang for directions and confirmation.
- Fra Lavatai discussed the IFC meeting he attended regarding rush. He said that in the fall, IFC will get back to a formal rush system with each rushee "bidding" on houses. He said that the IFC member that designed the program cam from U of Oregaon and it was sucessful there. He also said that this system could benefit small houses.

Grafitti Project:
- Tim said that he would talk to Jo-Anne regarding the monies owed the chapter for the Grafitti Painting Project.
Volleyball:
- Fra Snow mentioned that John of Sigma Llambda Beta was setting up a volleyball tournament and wanted Sammys to help. This would be part of a PEER project--a nonalocoholic event in which the sponsors would be paid $500, Note SLB is an hispanic fraternity--their meetings are tuesday; the president is Guillermo Macalpin phone 408 388-0672. Fra Lavatai said that this would be an opportunity to rush and suggested bringing in some asian sororites. The event is to be held in May.
T-shirt:
- Fra Lavatai would talk to Jason on the shirt design for the 35th. It was agreed that what we wanted on it wre: the crest; "35th Anniversary", the university name; and the chapter name. Fra Courtney should contact the printer and use his own descretion for design. It was not determined how this was to be paid for.
American Heart Association:
- Fra Snow said that someone form the AHS has gotten his name. The AHS said that they would apprear on campus doing medical screenings and passing out information. He said they would be on campus because of the invatation of Sigma Alpha Mu. Fra Snow said that he would take the action to find out what else they would be doing.
